Installation guide dish cloth holder
Not sure how to install your new dishcloth holder? Here comes guiding information!
Important: Before starting the installation, make sure you have the right type of sink and material suitable for use with the magnetic dishcloth holder. It is intended for steel and metal sinks and composite sinks. It cannot be used with stone or porcelain sinks.
1. Attaching the magnets
The fitting itself is in two parts, one part that should sit "under the sink" and the other part with the dishcloth holder itself should sit in the sink itself. These two parts fit together when you receive your product.
Place the dishcloth holder where you want it and place the magnet that you have under your sink in the same place. Then the magnets will be pulled together and the dish cloth holder will attach. Feel free to experiment a bit around where you want the holder so that it suits you and your kitchen. The most common is to have the holder on one side or alternatively towards you.
2. There is a strip of tape on one of the magnets, what should I do with it?
On the part that sits "under the sink" there is a plastic strip that covers a piece of tape. Actually, the tape is not needed, the holder should fit well anyway. But the idea with the tape is that when you have experimented a bit with which position you want the holder in the sink (on the side or towards you are the two most common options) then you pull off the strip of tape and attach it to the underside of the sink so that it sits with both tape and magnet, then you get an even stronger attachment.
Important: Keep in mind that once you place the holder with tape, it will be more difficult to move.
3. How do I identify which part should sit on which side of the sink?
When you receive your dishcloth holder, the two parts are held together by a magnet. Divide the magnets.
- The magnet that has a strip of tape on it should be "under the sink". The strip of tape should sit against the sink.
- The part that has the actual dishcloth holder/"arm" should sit in the sink.
4. I feel unsure if the holder can really hold up the dishcloth. I want to make sure of this before I tape. How do I find out?
If you don't tape the dishcloth holder and the shaft gets too much weight on it, the magnets on both sides of the sink will screw up causing the shaft to dip down. This can create the feeling that the magnets are not strong enough. One way to test whether the magnetic strength is sufficient for your particular disco is to do the following steps:
1. Leave the cover for the tape in place, and the magnet on the outside of the sink facing the tape strip towards the sink as usual and place the dishcloth holder on the inside of the sink.
2. Hold the magnet on the outside of the sink with one hand so that it does not screw on.
3. Then you can try putting on a cloth or pressing lightly with your hand. Then you will see that the shaft itself quickly finds the right position and does not dip.
The experiment simply involves your hand temporarily replacing the tape! Smart huh? Once the test is done, you can calmly find the perfect position for your dishcloth holder, peel off the tape cover and start using your new dishcloth holder!
